OUR HISTORY, PRINCIPALS AND GOALS
We are the makers of Super Blast Off®, an all in one cleaner second to none.  ELSCO was founded as a private company in 1955 after the development of what we believed was the best cleaning compound ever made. More than 52 years later we still believe it. And for 52 years we have proven it. But the original question was, “what do you name the best, most universal and dynamic cleaner?” The only name that hit the founder’s mind was, “BLAST OFF®” because that is exactly what the product did. It blasted grease, grime, dirt, and soils of any kind, off any surface with remarkable speed and ease.  After one year of use we discovered someone else owned our dream.  We stopped using the words blast off and changed the name of the product to SCAT.  In the meantime I pursued the name and finally succeeded.

 
Original BLAST OFF®, and now our 21st Century version SUPER BLAST OFF®, have been used in almost every country of the world. Most mega million dollar chemical companies cannot make that statement. All this was done with a handful of employees and satisfied customers who spread the word that we had, and still have, the best product ever made. Sure we’re bragging, and why not when you know you have beaten all your competition hands down.

Our principal has always been to keep BLAST OFF® and SUPER BLAST OFF® affordable.  And that we have done.  It is the way we keep our customers coming back.

We know of no other commercial chemical company who guarantees their product to perform exactly as the label says. 

Basically this little story boils down to a simple goal: Offer our customers a top quality, biodegradable, cost effective, and safe product, called SUPER BLAST 0FF®.

The quality of our product is proven by our competitors. Since the early 1980’s we were forced to guard our name like a farmer guards his hen house. At this point we have stopped over 100 companies who tried to sell inferior products using the trade name BLAST OFF®.

ELSCO INTERNATIONAL (AND EARL SMITH) VIGOURUOSLY DEFEND THE TRADE MARK "BLAST OFF®." THE USE OF THESE TRADE MARKED WORDS IN ANY FORM TO DESCRIBE ANY AND ALL CLEANING PRODUCTS IS AN ILLEGAL INFRINGEMENT.  WE WILL COME AFTER INFRINGERS!

So, if the label doesn’t say ELSCO INTERNATIONAL it ain’t BLAST OFF®.
